What is a hard reset (factory reset)?
A hard reset — also called a factory reset or master reset — erases all data and settings and returns your phone to the state it was in out of the box. It is the go-to fix for a forgotten lock screen, a frozen or bootlooping phone, persistent slowdowns, or preparing a device to sell.
Because a reset wipes everything, always back up your photos, contacts and files first. Note that on most modern Android phones a reset does not remove Google account (FRP) protection — you will need the last Google account that was signed in, so make sure you have those details before you start.
Pick your exact situation from the guides above for the safest, step-by-step method for your device.
